Oh god, I always pick a fight with my family right before leaving because I am upset about leaving (not on purpose, I am still a child).
Anyway, I made a wonderful IRL friend from The Hairpin comments, and we both moved to The Toast when it started, and we loved the misandry, and the movie yelling and the gorgeous writing and all the smart comments. Thank you for everything. I will be reading the archives over and over again forever. And I am hoping to make at least one new friend in the town that I just moved to with my bat signal (the Toast tote), when it arrives.

The Hairpin and The Toast got me through some very tough times, and introduced me to some great people. I will miss this place so much.
I'll be a life-long fan of Nicole, Mallory and everyone who's ever written for The Toast, so I'll be reading wherever you go next. Good luck! And thank you so much for building this amazing community.

I learnt swimming last year and I am 32. I was also worried about it being embarrassing/intimidating, but it was lots of fun! No one pays attention to what others are doing in the pool, they're all too busy.
