I'm excited about this. I'm not so high on Facebook, but being able to get Twitter updates will be convenient. I'm also a bit of a Last.fm junkie. Welcome additions that will continue to turn the 360 into a complete entertainment console.

Last time I checked this was a "country" not a gated community with fees, etc.

This might be true, but the government never forces anyone to join (aside from the draft). I absolutely respect our troops and their sacrifices, but they all volunteered. The rich give funding so that we can have a surplus of troops and weapons. The rich fund Team America.

Agreed. The constitution never quotes the Bible or even cites it. Basic ideas of morality at the time were used for the frame work. I haven't ever seen an occasion in the Bible where it calls for Christians to run the government either. If I remember correctly, it says to submit to it and respect the leaders. Hmmm....

Religulous was excellent. Jesus Camp was completely one-sided though. Journalistic rubbish.

Sadly, the Bible holds no plan for economic prosperity.

Travis, thank you for these words of wisdom. But let's say that all of this is taken figuratively and this simply talks about spiritual poverty, then the example is inapplicable. Certainly Jesus cared more for spiritual well-being than physical. Example: Rich young ruler must give up all possessions. :)

Excellent point here, bringing me back to my college days. Back to my original point though, it's hardly fair to expect the more wealthy to essentially give money to those who have worse situations. They have either earned the right to be where they are or sustain their status via their efforts. They should not be penalized. Putting this into the current times: Mr. Obama will have to raise taxes somewhere. He is simply spending too much money not to. My guess is that they will be levied on the high income brackets. What that tells me is that the reward for making more money, the reward for personal accomplishment is taxation. Hardly a nice incentive.

What you just assumed is that the majority of the wealthy in America have somehow stolen their wealth. That is ridiculous. Without the wealthy to give some type of incentive to people (i.e. the so-called "american dream" of wealth), there are fewer incentives to drive the economy.

Not sure if I understand your wording here. I simply was trying to point out that no man should be forced to bear the burden of his neighbor. Now, I hope that people will choose to be charitable, but if they choose not to that is their decision. The government cannot automatize America. America is becoming too large and diverse to begin to force sanctions on individuals, especially economic sanctions.
