Thanks, Ilene. Sometimes we get so caught up in the day to day of life that we don't even realize that we're putting ourselves dead last. And, I really like wearing make-up and doing my hair.
I wish I was still in Brooklyn, too. It would be so great to just sit down and chat with you again. I was just thinking (last night actually) that you and I are in the exact same position in life right now. Every time I read one of your posts I just nod and think, "yeah. me too."
Sometimes it's hard to be true to yourself. It's hard not to compare when we see it where ever we go. Disconnecting is hard, but so worth it!
"I think it comes down to doing what's right for your particular personality"... That is so true, Shana. When I first started blogging, I bogged with the goal of gaining tons of readers. I wanted the comments and the recognition, but then I realized what all of the entailed...and it's a lot of work. I'm happy with my decision to keep it small. PS - I absolutely love WHY you join the linky parties. I never, ever thought of a linky that way.
It's funny how this group literally is the first group that I connected with, and we still connect to this day! I talk to my husband about all of you as if you live here and we just went for coffee. Next time you're heading to Syracuse, let me know. I'll take some time to head out to see you (and my family, of course...)
I 100% agree Carol. When I started I so wanted to be the big fish in the big pond, but I'm so OK being the minnow swimming with her small school of friends (well, if minnows do swim in small schools...). And thatnk you so much for your support. It means the world to me!
Same here, Emily. It was like we knew each other for years! I can't wait for our next conference either. But, we seriously have to make it tropical. Hawaii??
I'm so glad that you feel that way, because I feel the same. My blog doesn't' get a lot of readership, but I know that I can always rely on my small group to keep me going...even when I'm at my worst.
The inter-webs seriously is a crazy and fickle beast. I'm so glad that we all connected so long ago...and, yes, I think it was through Ilene! She's such a good hostess!
And that's why everyone loves you, Amy. You know how to love well.
