I just got back from seeing the movie. I loved it. I would see it again. It was a great story and I don't care if it's true or not. Just like "Hoosiers", if I'm motivated enough to care about the real story, I'll do some research.

It not only tells an engrossing tale of a guy bucking the status quo for something he believes in, but there are some wonderful sub plots. I don't care who wrote it, produced it, directed it, or financed it. Heck, I even forgot the main character was Brad Pitt about ten minutes into it.

Oh, and the ending, when Pete brought Billy into the film room, was perfect.

"Surely you don't expect God to do everything for you? You gotta earn his presence, then you gotta recognize it, then act on it."

The only quote I remember from the movie.

Good Lord. It took me about five minutes to stop laughing after reading the headline. One of the priceless headlines of all time! Those who are unfamiliar with Eric Cartman may not understand that.

Oh, and "leitmotif"? Is that a word?

Did some of you actually READ Tony's post? His point not only has merit, but echos the same sentiment that has been voiced here countless times. When the Big sites posted clips from one of Olbermann's rants, (R.I.P. --The guys on Criminal Minds say that a missing person after so many days is like 99% dead or something like that) his audience quadrupled.

What happened to debating content? Leave the name calling to those who truly are bankrupt of ideas. Just because someone disagrees with you doesn't make them a troll. And what's all this "I've got a picture--you don't have a picture" crap? In the arena of ideas, the ability to get your viewpoint across in a clear and concise manner is the only thing that counts.

And you kids get off my lawn!

This is ridiculous. I haven't paid that much attention to all this, but this document doesn't clear up anything. JoanOfArgghh is right. Whatever this is it is not the original document. Whether that means something significant or not I don't know. What I do know is this is going to stir up the doubt and distrust all over again.

Why now? They had the thing pretty much bottled up and ultimately could have just claimed it was lost. Now there is a good chance for something much more damaging. Curious.

I had no idea anything like this was going on until I read this article. Where have I been, under a rock?

No they wouldn't. If they were there the first time He came they would have scourged Him and nailed Him to the cross. But that was the first time. When He comes again, something far different is going to happen.

I am a bit dumbfounded at many of the posts here. If you are not a Christian, fine. Believe whatever you want about the person we refer to as Jesus. If you are truly a believer in Biblical truth, you know very well who Jesus is and what his mission was 2000 and some odd years ago.

All of history before the crucifixion laid the groundwork for the perfect sacrifice to be made and the plan of salvation. That mankind did not have to follow the god of this world to ultimate doom. That even someone like me, as retched as I am, could find forgiveness and life. Any other idea about community organizing and such means less than nothing compared to this.

All this stumbling around, trying to compare the Son of God to anyone, much less the current occupant of the White House, brings to mind a curious recent statement by President Obama: "We are reminded that there's something about the Resurrection, something about the Resurrection of our savior, Jesus Christ, that puts everything else in perspective."

Say what?! "Something about?" This is not the statement of someone who understands what the death and resurrection of our Savior means.
