While it would be great to go to Washington, I feel it's important for us to make stands in our own communities so people see that they really aren't alone. That's why we're doing one in the middle of California's wine country. Snooty socialists, be damned, we're here and we aren't leaving. :)

Throwing a TEA Party in Santa Rosa, California
10AM - 12:30 PM
OLD COURTHOUSE SQUARE
between 3rd and 4th streets at Santa Rosa Avenue
More information at www.northbaypatriots.com

We're giving name-tags (preprinted with a logo) to all our volunteers, got t-shirts for our members, a color guard from the VFW, music, balloons, food, education, games...Wow! It's crazy. :D

Hope everyone has a great time at their rallies as well.

(what the heck is with the multiple posts?)

Suzie, email me directly. Let's talk. I'll take it to my board and see what we can do to get the Bay Area Patriots on this.

it's a good idea in theory, but then you're hurting your neighbors and small business folks who depend on commerce to stay in business. Then they'll just pass more stimulus. It's changing the thought process of those in the Twilight-Zone (aka DC) that needs to be done.

Unfortunately, she represents San Francisco and they won't throw her out unless she does something heinous, like support Proposition 8, or say "George Bush was a fantastic President." Even then...I'm not sure.

We're working on it, and slowly building a following, but it may take time. Maybe not this next election in 2010, but by 2012, I'm thinking we might be able to get rid of the shrieking shrew of San Francisco.

Stand up and lead. This is sometimes a frightening thing to do. Out here in California, it's sometimes dangerous. We are, however, continuing. We've been working hard to pull together a website where folks can find information, news, events, and calls to action.

We are planning another rally for July 4, 2009 in Santa Rosa, California, because the city doesn't do anything for the fourth. We're also holding regular meetings with the whole group, as well as small offshoot committees. We're basically serving as an example for other area groups.

It's not easy putting yourself out there, but someone has to do it.

This was my first protest/demonstration. I've worked on campaigns, but this is the first time something I started snowballed into something so huge. My 912 group here in Sonoma County started with 32 members for the viewing party. We had between 550 and 600 people at our event (http://www.pressdemocrat.com/article/20090416/NEW...

I heard from many other people there that this is the first time they had been to an event like this. I also commented on the news story that this was not a Republican event, though the local republican party jumped on the bandwagon at the end...Everything we had was donated from the money for the permit to demonstrate, to the banners, to the sound system, literature, flags, placards, etc. Photos:(http://s592.photobucket.com/albums/tt3/SonomaCoun... 15 Tea Party/)

It was AWESOME and made me cry.
