I guess if we want to get technical, we started this country in debt by borrowing from the french to pay our militia and soldiers so they would fight the British. And I wholeheartedly agree with you on exports>imports.

Not saying this has anything in particular to do with Obama, just pointing out that the leaders in our government, from the state level to the federal level dont know how to manage money and NONE of them care how it is going to be paid for. Especially when our last president used a trick of bookeeping by not including the war spending in the budget at all. Its the 'well, if its not on this sheet of paper (budget) then its not a expense for the country'. Its like saying 'well, I still have 100 dollars in my checking account (budget), but dont look at my savings (war spending) which is -1 trillion'.

Seriously. Nothing will change until we stop voting in the same people over and over again. Democrats and Republicans. Both of them are no good.

What are our children supposed to learn from our legislatures about money? Absolutely nothing. The Republican administration for the last 8 years caused roughly 90% of what our current national debt is, with Obama coming in for the last 10 percent. Lesson learned, both major partys dont care about fiscal responsibility.
