SCH40 is cheaper pipe then ductile iron. Unfortuanately the cities are too cheap to replace these older lines with a heavy duty product. I mean, C/O Seattle uses SCH40 for there footing drains (STORM with NO pressure) around all their buildings so if NUD is still using SCH40 for water lines (With pressure), it needs fixed! Only thing SCH40 pipe should be used for these days is anyone with an irrigation system!
