School pride runs deep in my hometown, but since I do not have fond memories of my time spent in my hometown, I have zero pride for my hometown.. That sounds awful to say, but it's the honest truth. Since I have graduated, our town has combined with other towns so now the mascot isn't even the same, so I feel zero connection to my little home town high school...

This was beautifully written - as usual! You have such a way with words! When are you going to write a book? :)

Sometimes I feel like pretending I am going away for the weekend, but then staying home and hibernating!

Sometimes I come home at the end of the day completely exhausted and wish I had a husband to make me dinner!

Sometimes I am glad that I am single so I can eat a bowl of cereal or a baked potato for dinner!

I don't think it is wasteful to approach life that way. being a type-A to the max, I sort of admire you for being able to just live your life and not be bound by the clock. I am a habitual watch wearer... I feel naked without it. I have tried to break myself of this habit, but have been unsuccessful...

That said, my microwave no longer really 'keeps' time, so that has a random time... my stove does have the accurate time, but the coffee pot doesn't because after a storm, I didn't go to the trouble of re-setting it since i never use the timer on it anyways. So my kitchen also throws ppl off!!

Well written, as usual... I am happy to hear that the waters have calmed and you do not feel as tossed about as you did this summer... I think it's tough to deal w/ things like this, esp when there are secrets and whispered conversations and speculation. I think it feels better to have the facts and know what the future holds... The uncertainty, for me, is the worst part.

Aw, you totally captured the weekend so well! You have such a way with words, my dear. It really was such an amazing time. My only regret is not eating deep fried pickles w/ you on Sunday night! I totally should have bought some. Ha.

Can't wait for April!

Yes, please. Bring on fall. Summer has exhausted me. I should not complain because I know winter is just around the corner and I know I will want to kick my *ss for complaining about the heat, but I am drained. I am exhausted. I am tired of the heat and the humidity. My hot-box of a condo makes for sleepless nights. (I have the a/c cranked on super high so that it will hopefully be comfortably cool by Thursday, though, for your arrival!).

I want a new season. I want a fresh start. I want to leave behind the unfulfilled desires of summer.

Ooo fun! I love sending cards to people. And in college, I used to help friends come up with what to write in cards sent to boyfriends in early in a relationship, etc. :)

My favorite kind of note is the unexpected, out of the blue, just sending it for no reason type of note...

Well I for one am in your corner, rooting for you. Hang in there, my dear! You can do it! :)

I think it takes a strong person to look at their challenging life experiences them and to view them through a lens of 'this will make me stronger' instead of 'this completely blows and I want to give the world the middle finger.' I am sort of in the 'middle finger' place right now in regards to challenges in my life, but I am sure w/ time and patience, I too will view these experiences as life changing...

What a fabulous post, as usual.

I'm the kind of woman who lets her mind go into over drive far too often, forcing me into a state of panic about things that are absolutely out of my control.

I'm the kind of woman that expects the worst so that I am pleasantly surprised if things turn out better than I had imagined.

I still think you need to write a screen play for that funeral scene. Seriously. It's Oscar worthy.
