Sounds like Grandma Jeffords cooks like my Nana (my Dad's Mom). I lived with her one summer during college and tried to learn to cook from her and it was practically impossible. She measures nothing and yet it always comes out great! And puts totally different stuff in the same dish sometimes and varies the amounts tremendously. I kept saying that I needed to write down amounts and she would say, "Oh, about that much." It was a hoot!
Her cooking has always been my favorite though. Now that I am more familiar with kitchen metrics maybe I should try again!
