I just want to say THANK YOU Mallory. I've come back to your advice and am applying it to a likewise delicate situation with a gentleman caller. The thought of warrior spinsterhood, taking to the sea, building a misandrist army and other such delights gives me great hope and courage! Come sit next to me and bring like 3-4 people with adventurous palates or open minds. Let's all order different wine flights. And share. And ask the cute bartender questions about the terroir and then nerd out and compare and contrast. Then we descend upon cheese plates - a few different ones that will make us wrinkle our noses initially but then moan in delight. Let's keep them rotating around the table a bit. After we finish maybe we need dessert? Or a whiskey flight?
