I, myself just saw it. Not bad (better than AvP1 for sure) but so full of plot holes I think I sprained an ankle. The two types of Predator thing made no sense (especially when two of the movies make it clear that the normal type has at least numbers led by a chieftain of sorts). I can get the whole "game preserve" concept, but it didn't make any sense to have the Biggers hunting the Smallers as creeper Fishburne told us. Why? Because the concept of a game preserve is that those in charge control who goes in and hunts. Why would any of the smaller predator species decide to go there if they end up getting hunted themselves? This begs the question of, where they forced there themselves? If so then where were the ships full of, presumedly, experienced Predator warriors? No, it doesn't make any sense and considering the lack luster performance of the smaller one in the movie, it shouldn't have been part of the story. Instead, they should have made the chained up one be some sort of failure, or rival who was beaten by the pack leader. That would not change the way to story turned out and would eliminate this stupid plot pot hole that I tripped on.

I would take Blind Side for best picture. Personally, because it created the greatest emotional response of all of them for me. Original Score would be Star Trek, but that is because I'm huge into the music side of movies, and it was the best one that really added to the scenes and conveyed emotion (Avatar's score was mediocre and served more as background noise than actually conveying feeling). The music shouldn't stand out too much but also not be forgettable (one of the reasons why I feel John Williams is the best living composer). That being said, Transformers 2 had a great score but it was rehashing the original music which is why it cannot be considered. I would also throw in Stephen Lang in the best supporting character category, not that he should win, for his role as Colonel Quaritch in Avatar (At first I liked the character, and then I wanted him to die). Also, and I know about the technicalities of this all, I would put Star Trek in the visual effects slot. Why? Because I didn't think CG every time I saw the ships and creatures, while in Avatar (motion capture being the new and exciting thing aside) I couldn't get past how animated all the things looked. In fact, Jar Jar looked more real than the Na'Vi (or at least about the same). Gollum is still the best animated portrayal of a character I have seen and I will stand by that one until I see something better. All in all, this year the best pictures for me were the ones that rehashed the same old hero vrs villain stories that have been told since Gilgamesh. Oh, and Green Lantern: First Flight should win it all! HAHAHA

Actually, Owlman, Superwoman, and the Crime Syndicate itself, have been around since the 1960's (Over 20 years before Watchmen)

The movie itself was neat. A simple, and typical, storyline with tons of action. The one saving grace (plot-wise) for me was the final showdown between Owlman and Batman, when it is implied that the difference between the two is how the reacted when each faced the Abyss of life; Batman choosing the way of justice while Owlman became a Nihilist. It was a good way to show how two people can look at the same thing and come to two completely different conclusions. Other than that, though, this movie is average at best.

Honestly, I rarely have these issues. I tend to go see movies in the early afternoon, either by myself or with my brother. Even with blockbusters and must see's, at that time of day there aren't enough people in the theater to make a difference. But when there is a group of people nearby who are making too much noise, I tend to start growling...for some reason that usually shuts them up. On the flip side, I laugh so hard and loud during most movies that I really don't notice anyone else.

But in truth, the refill is a must! WHY? Because the prices are the premier example of price gouging, and the only way I can justify spending the money is if I can at least fill up my drink on the way out...even though I always use coupons that shaves off about two thirds of the price of the whole thing...
