I don't get how Goodwill and Salvation Army get to call themselves non-profit at all. They charge an arm and a leg for tables, furniture, etc. They are uber selective about what they will take (they used to not take TVs, when I was getting rid of one, then one day I saw them accept one from someone else and asked why, and suddenly they DO take TVs). They don't take encyclopedias, so every time I give them a big box of good clothes, I sneak a big, heavy encyclopedia in there in the bottom.

Not to mention one time on Cops I saw the cops arrest someone (at the behest of Salvation Army) who took some clothes left outside a Salvation Army store's drop box in some mall parking lot (there were so many donations that they couldn't fit everything in the huge drop box the place had). I'm sure the person who took the clothing needed it and the person dropping it off would have given it to them if they had a chance. The Salvation Army my a$$. Who here has EVER been helped by those people?
