i wrote a little app for my phone (this was actually kinda hard pre-iPhone) to bread crumb my gps location every 30 seconds i think it was. the turns are accurate and i did this ride pretty much every day rain/snow/shine/dark/cold/hungry/headache/... for 2 years.

Congrats Seth and all... looks really cool and love the fact that they are thinking across all mobile platforms. Pretty impressive numbers for a company that is less than a year old! I'll definitely kick the tires in my mobile apps.

badass or boneheaded insanity... that's up for debate :)

yep, that is a section of the little dry creek path. if you click on the map, go to aerial view, and zoom in you can see the trail.

thanks for the alternate route that avoids wads - tis a good option.

That's awesome Jeff! I got a good laugh and for the most part agree with you. I do see the benefits of the semantic web... my graduate thesis was on this topic SIX YEARS AGO and not much has changed (that says a bunch right there and validates your point).

However, recently there has been some progress. I think Alex and company at Adaptive Blue (and a few others) are doing a pretty good job of nibbling the elephant's rear end and actually doing something on top of this fuzzy notion of a semantic web.
