I know how you feel. When I drove up and saw the home I knew that no one had even been there to check it out. There were no signs of life and the no trespassing signs were posted. All blinds were closed and the yard was unkept. It saddens me to know that no one will be there to enjoy this cozy cabin for the holidays ahead. Oh well, Que Sera Sera.

LLColeman,

I think you may be be right. There must be a good reason why the winner hasn't been by to see their new home.

Hello Sunshine,
You're such a sweetheart. Thank you for thinking of me. I would call them in a heart beat if I thought the asking price was in line with my budget. I'm sure they are hoping to sell the home for 500K-600K and my budget will only allow me to purchase a home in the 200K range. I'll continue my search and know that GOD will lead me to a home that is perfect for me. :)

Joanlife,
Thank you for your kind reply. I had high hopes that someone would be there to accept the welcome basket I made. I know I would have been elated if I won and someone showed up on my door step with a welcome gift. It still puzzles me that there was no sign of life on the premises. LLColeman may be right. Perhaps they've been advised to stay away to avoid insurance legalities.

Good Morning home_girl
Thank you for your kind reply. I thought about contacting the Turner family but my budget would never allow me to purchase a grand home like BC 2012. I have faith that GOD will lead me to one that is more in line with my budget. Until then, I'll keep Day Dreaming. :)

Upate on BC 2012 ...I thought you all might like to know that I drove down Dutchneck Road this week, hoping to present a welcome basket to the Turner family. Unfortunately, there were no signs of anyone living there. It was sad to see the front yard full of leaves and over grown. I was deeply saddened to see no one enjoying this dream home. :(

Wow! I can't wait to see what they do with this one. The designer certainly won't have to go too far to find the perfect pieces to furnish this home. I love all the antiques and hope they use them as they are in the new space. This location is perfect for everyone. Nice job DIY!!!

Hi Jennie,
I made the trip up 3 weeks ago and took a few photos of the front yard. I was happy to see they replaced the dead plants with a beautiful arrangement of mums. I have plans to return to the area next week to look at a home in Union and will make a point to stop by BC one more time. Hopefully, the new owner will be there and invite me in. :) http://web.stagram.com/n/kendayjr
