Neighbors are ALWAYS around to witness our shortcomings, aren't they? And I must agree with you about the weed-eating. It's dangerous! I've had plant matter get flung into my eyes from that evil thing. I. Hate. It.

And kudos, I've embarrassingly never been able to crank our lawnmower :(

I look forward to reading more of Allie's story. You painted a vivid picture with this first chapter. I was taken back to childhood by your descriptions. It all seemed very realistic and heartwrenching.
