Do the students have to pay extra for the meals to cover the cost of the gas to transport the vehicle to them? Seems a little redundant to me to have the food waiting for them in the cafeteria and they go outside to get the exact same thing. No wonder school lunches cost upwards of $4. Outrageous.
Guess the food service is getting even more desperate to sell the food no one wants to buy.

I teach high school chemistry in a public school in Colorado. Colorado has something called open-enrollment - your tax dollars go where your child goes. It's an open lottery system and as long as you're willing to provide transportation, your kid can go virtually anywhere.
That being said, we, as teachers, have long conversations about what we could do better to attract more students to our school. What courses could we offer to better prepare them for college? How can we reach more students more efficiently? Seems to me a great plan is working well here. Wish more schools/states would adopt it and add virtual schools to the list.

If the SCOTUS upholds this travesty on our civil rights, it will get ugly real fast. What's to stop them from making us buy a GM Volt to boost sales? Or move into smaller houses? If they can tell us what we must buy against our own free will, we are standing at the top of a very slippery slope.

I grew up watching Sesame Street and loved the Muppets when it was on TV as a pre-teen/teenager. So much so, I've rented all the old Muppets videos so my own kids can watch them. We love the Muppets and even paid to see the latest Muppet movie. I am sad to say, that will be the last dollar the Muppet enterprise will get from me. I firmly believe in lettting my money do the talking for me. Goodbye Beaker, Waldorf and Statler, Swedish chef and Sweetums - it was fun while it lasted. Man-na-ma-na!

As a public school teacher in Colorado - but not in the districts mentioned here - I am appalled by this. My school just spent a fortune and went through a major refurb and I don't even have enough desks in my classroom for all my students. I had to beg, borrow or steal 3 extra desks so none of my students have to sit at lab benches. It is ridiculous for districts to spend money subsidizing the unions. Especially since CO is right to work and not every teacher is in the union - I'm not - mainly for reasons like this.

Although I am not entirely sure now, Rosie was a woman at some point in her life. Do we call her a host or hostess? Or is that sexist? Hard to know where to draw the PC line. sarc..

Although I enjoyed the blog, I have a small complaint. Could we please refer to these politicians of being "of Indian descent" rather than Indian-American? Their behaviors, belief systems and values all seem to reflect genuine Americans (unlike the current occupier of the WH who didn't even bother to issue a Christmas statement). I get so sick of people referring to themselves as (insert nationality here)-Americans. If we are here legally by birth or by choice, we are all Americans - no hyphenating allowed.

I will hold my nose and vote for anyone but Obama. That being said, I am not thrilled with my choices in the GOP. I'd vote in a heartbeat for Walker, Ryan or Rubio because they seem to share my belief system about government. I think they're all waiting another 4 years - and in the process, sticking us with Obama to the point where the entire country will vote GOP. It's not really a fear so much as they want a guaranteed win. I'm fairly confident this country can't survive another 4 years of Obama's so-called leadership.
