Good luck with the move! I know having everything in boxes is a pain, but I really enjoy taking everything out of boxes and making a house a home when putting your stuff in its new spots.

Thanks for the link back! Your comment about whether it would have gotten more attention back in March and April had I recommended it for BR got me thinking. I really wish I could have finished it in time now!!

I read it in April and really, really liked it. I was going to recommend it for BR but missed the deadline. I am still bothered that more people hadn't read it before this weekend because it really was a decent book. I loved the main two characters, and the story kept me guessing. I was completely shocked during the final reveal. I feel it is a great revamp of the detective/murder genre. It was slow, but I could appreciate it because detective work is slow. Was it brilliant? No. But I felt it was good enough to merit more attention than it got.

That being said, I am simultaneously thrilled to have discovered the book before it was cool to do so and irked as well. I'm upset because one of the reasons I wanted to read it is specifically because of Robert Galbraith's bio. I completely bought the "former military member writing a novel about a former military member who becomes a detective" and who needs a pseudonym to protect any secrets he might spill. I not only bought it, the idea intrigued me so much, it made my reading priority list. I'm thrilled that Jo was able to sneak one past EVERYONE and write a book without the fanfare and attention, but I'm disappointed that I'm going to lose the one reason I picked up the book in the first place.

You are absolutely correct that this is going to generate quite a bit of discussion. And if it doesn't, shame on the publishing industry.

Congratulations!! The fact that you were recruited is even more exciting. Hopefully, things die down a bit for you to allow you a little bit more balance, but in the meantime, knock this new job out of the park, girl!!

I've been trying to share it with everyone. If I could put it into strangers' hands, I would. I loved this one too. It actually took me three weeks to write the review because I could not adequately express how much I loved this book.

Freud's Mistress was interesting. I still haven't sorted out my feelings for it.

Have a great week!

I need to go back and read CeeCee Honeycutt. I somehow skipped it (although I do own it)!
