As you will notice, my name is attached to this account. I don't have anything to hide. I made up my mind a long time ago, that if I ever decided to "blog", I would make sure people knew who was writing. If I was going to put this issue to a vote, I would NOT choose to do so during a municipal election. I would not be ashamed of my decision. I would want this issue on the ballot when the most people would be going to the polls in order to get the best opinion of what the people wanted. I feel strongly that the general public is not aware that they can vote NOW on this issue. That is a problem for me.
This is not just a municipal election. This is a countywide election. Every registered voter in Rowan County is eligible to vote in this election as the Rowan County Commissioners have added a 1/4 cent sales tax increase to the ballot. This is one of the few times that citizens have the opportunity to vote on a new or additional tax. Please contact all your friends, neighbors, and relatives and encourage them to go out and vote on this very important issue. Early voting has already started. The last day to vote will be November 3rd. If you have any questions about when or where to vote, call the local Board of Elections at 704-216-8140.

This is a countywide referendum. Every registerd voter in the entire County is eligible to vote for or against this tax increase. Please inform all your neighbors, friends and relatives and ask them to go vote. Early voting has already begun. The last date to vote will be November 3rd. Unless County residents who do not live in a municipality get out and vote in this election, this tax will pass with a very small number of people actually voting it in. If you have any questions regarding voting, please contact the Board of Elections at 704-216-8140.
Citizens very seldom have the opportunity to vote on a new or additional tax. Don't miss out this time!
Many Rowan County citizens are not aware that the current election cycle is more than a municipal election. This is a countywide election, as the Rowan County Commissioners have placed a 1/4 cent sales tax referendum on the ballot. This is one of the very few times that citizens have the opportunity to voice their opinion on a new or additional tax. Please contact all your friends, relatives, and neighbors and inform them of this very important issue.
Early voting has already started. The last day to vote is November 3. If non-municipal residents do not get out and vote one way or another on this "TAX INCREASE" it could pass with very few votes. For some reason, the Salisbury Post has not chosen to do a story on this important local issue. I intend to request they do so on Monday morning, October 19th. I am also contacting the local radio stations and requesting that they include this issue as one of their public service announcements. For information on voting you can contact the local Board of Elections office at 704-216-8140.
