I can't overlook that also. Obviously he has a track record of picking people who perform and you make an excellent point. I would say the same of Romney. But I would give the edge to Cain... Thx
Romney always attacks Obama, Perry always attacks Romney. Romney has had like 40 adds and they all go after Obama. We don't see a lot of them on this site but it is true. At the debates Romney replies to a Perry attack and he gets labeled as attacking Perry. MSM coverage of Mitt is all negative and new media always panders to Mitts opponents. They are scared that a non establishment Republican like Mitt or Cain will win the primaries. That is bad for all the corrupt govt cronies, Dem and GOP. Every career politician knows that Mitt has no establishment big govt GOP organizations to beholden to. He will refine this behemoth called government just like he did when he cut the Big Dig and Masshighway/MassPort. Just as he did to companies that Bain took over to save them before they went bankrupt just like he did to the pay to play blood suckers in the Olymics that he saved. I know he can do it as he always has just as Cain did, but add executive govt experience where he turned a Dem legislature in Ma against each other and he will be able to get his agenda passed. Cain is great but I worry about the foreign policy inexperience and lack of needing to work with those that disagree with him in a congress. Don't get me wrong he will learn very fast and should do well, but sometimes like in Obama's case you can't teach this type of gift. I say Mitt, Cain, or Jimfact for next Prez... I said it now, thats how I feel... Lots of my friends are pushing me to run... I just can't get them to give me a check... Maybe 2016? Good luck to all in the GOP field! Keep your focus on Obama!
Not that I disagree with not trusting him, after all he is running for election. I assume there are career politicians you trust more? I don't trust any of them but at least this guy has proven himself over and over and over again in the private sector. As and efficiency expert myself often we go in to a project with ulterior motives. Usually when 100% honesty would include that we are introducing a lean mfg system in their plant to cut down mostly on the cost of capital but also often some redundant jobs (Basically exactly what Bain Capital does). It is hard to gain the trust and help of a work force when you are telling them that 'yes we are cutting a few to save the many'. This example doesn't happen often but some times... On the other hand the establishment GOP'ers in the field I can guarantee are lying to us more often than not. When Bush supported SCOTUS affirmation of AAction, comprehensive illegal immigration, TARP, Pork and corruption, etc, etc, I was upset (not Halliburton on no-bids contracts however, as they were the only company in the world with the tech to handle that job in Iraq). He didn't run on those issues and tell us the truth on any of them. We had to find out the hard way. I love Cain also, but he and Mitt are the only non establishment contenders right now save Paul. I just think we can't single out Mitt all the time as untrustworthy, when he has proven himself in the free market capitalist business sector so many times. Where cronyism is inefficient and always affects a leaders capacity to be successful unlike career politicians.
fast/tnarc1, good back and forth. When he ran against Sen Kennedy? Really... Are we holding all candidates to that level of scrutiny? I did read his book, you might understand where he stands today if you did... not '94. How about Bain Capital? Olympics? Came into MA w/ deficit and left w/ a rainy day fund? He single handed kept Fidelity, Compac/Intel, GE, Fiber-Optic industry, and the new Silicon Valley (RT 495 ring) in Massachusetts. They all left within a month of him leaving office or shortly there after. Those companies are probably half of Perry's new jobs (Fidelity). 3 of our top 5 employers gone w/in a month. This guys fixes messes, he has proven to do so his whole life. If elected he will be a leader, he won't be worried about pissing off friends in the GOP. He isn't 'Establishment' only 4 yrs as Guv and in a 85% Blue state. He minimized damage while here, it has gotten a lot worse and it did before the recession. I also like Cain, but Romney will fix things too. Think Bain Capital would have invested in Solyndra?
CAIN is doing well with all this, which is good. Thx BBart for your second pro Romney clip vs. what 30 pro Perry? I would like to have a bit of a perspective before calling Perry the true conservative. I wan't somebody not from the establishment in the White House. Right now that is Herman Cain or Mitt Romney. All you saying Mitt is establishment haven't a clue what establishment is. Establishment is often Red state Guv's that run the guv associations or paid the piper as they moved up the 'public service ladder'. For decades they have supported illegals for their plantation owners farm profits and expanded government. We need somebody to re-asses our government as it is now compared to what it was that made us the best country in the world. You think Bain Capital would have invested in Solyndra or a similar company from a Red state? No we need somebody to go in there to kick a$$ and cut waste. Cain and Mitt are the ones who can do that and have done that their whole lives.
Ha ha, Glost'a, I remember working that well. We called it Glasnost b/c it was so cold @ 2am in May (felt like Siberia, nobody would take breaks b/c we would freeze, in MAY!). Those endless guardrail raised roads in the bog's. OMG, we were prevailing wage back in '96 with laborers getting $47.63/hr, well over $55 now. ROADS or Middlesex got the contracts and we took them below what they bid & made a killing. To get the job we had to take many legislature's son's and union cronies etc. My guys were from Worcester and I sprinkled them thru all the crews. They would Nextel chirp me saying how 'Mr, Kennedy's' (not really but I don't want to name them) son was doing nothing. We couldn't fire them but we could push them till they quit. Could u imagine what it took to get one of these 18y/o making that money to quit? One quit on Rt 1 @ about 1am. He said 'I'm done' and threw down his shlt. It was again a cold rainny night so he hopped in the arrowboard truck. I said sorry kid but u quit & our insurance only allows employee's in the trucks. LOL. About 15min later the owner called and patted me on the back. He said he just got a call of complaint from a state legislature about his son left on Rt1. LOL that was the best.
Heh, When in college I subbed for Mass Highway nights. Those details chirped me every night begging for work. Chewing Kodiak and drinking dunkin's they always fell asleep. We usually moved at a good clip and every night lost a detail. I would go back in the arrow board to find him asleep in the highspeed lane some miles back or stuck in the woods b/c they always fell asleep w/ their car's in drive and foot on the brake. They wonder how so many get rear ended working details? They fall asleep on blind curves and become a hazard themselves hurting law abiding people. But they don't tell anybody that in the gory new story about the poor cop making $200K/yr working day and night. They mean well too but greed makes many men not see the risks. It is cronyism too b/c how they get assigned or given details is set up for corruption on purpose.
When the Red Sox loses Kurt Shilling (called this a few weeks ago), its like Obama loosing the CBC. A sure sign its over!
If you didn't catch the Palin interview w/ the Judge on BBarts
http://www.breitbart.tv/palin-on-cain-im-one-of-h... I think she agrees and made the same kind of appeal. Check it out. She is the real deal, and I love that she is using her position out of the race to make it all the more authentic. You nailed it Kwic.
I hope so friend. Perry in the white house, as I have been saying and getting my rating hammered on this site for over a month, will ensure the establishment GOP doesn't fix this wrong. I hope people can see how much this is adding to our unemployment and siphoning our tax dollars. For what $.50/pint of blueberries... and 20 million new Democrat voters? This hegemony still does exist in the South even for the GOP. That is why they haven't fixed it yet. We are sending D students to college, indebting them for life, when all they want is a satisfying job where they can enjoy a hard days work. But illegals are taking all those jobs away. Everybody needs to go to college? Why? To pay the Union faculty? To promote institutionalized Socialism? This is how the N@zi's did it too.
