Thank You Seacapt for your tireless perserverance in this tragic case. It is indeed a shame to Scott Napper that he did not see the need to respond in like manner. And shame on his friends for defending actions that were really UNdefendable. I agree with you Seacapt. that the direction now must be "forward" and that somehow, from this tragedy, good will come to so many more than Leafil could have ever imagined. I too support your efforts and encourage all you others who have shared this story together, to take up a "torch" for Leafil and her family. Many hands make light work. May the efforts be blessed of all who have a willing heart!

What?????? Has her body been found? How can you have a "MEMORIAL" fund? Is she official listed as deceased??? Does this mean Authorities have actually found the REAL EYE WITNESS? The person(s) that SAW WITH THEIR OWN EYES...Napper & Leafil ON THE BEACH WALKING TOWARD THE ROCK and then the events that happened per Napper's account? Or are we still back to square one - Napper as the ONLY EYE witness?????????? And we're giving money to WHO??? for what???? Come on folks - please...tell me I'm missing something here!

Wow! that's quite a story! Were we actually there on the same day?????? Trucks a 100yds further out...that's why he felt safe"???? I have photos of the beach during that time, that day. You're digging the whole deeper, so stop while you MAY still be "ahead". The bottomline is that no one in their right mind should have been around the rock at that time, that day. And, in fact, VERY few people were even on the beach because the conditions were just that ominous.

ViolinKarm...the eyewitness account you mention was one of the first accounts I read before coming to this site. I had asked her if, in fact, she had actually seen the most crucial time in the whole story....actually seen the girl BEING SWEPT AWAY. She did not confirm that. And for me that has been the mystery all along. WHO is the REAL eye-witness. My husband and I are also witnesses of what happened from the time Napper was scrambling around on the rock - with the agility of a mountain goat! Yet could not snatch a 93lb toothpick out of a 3Ft wave? This is one of a dozen questions that has been on a "loop" in my mind since Saturday Nov. 29th. I would love to be proven wrong by the all important and true "eye-witness" that saw the critical moment before all us other "witnesses" tuned in. At this point it seems, only Napper and God know exactly what happend that day...and one of them holds the ultimate trump card!

Watch it "heavenly" when you use the term crucify - you (your "friend") is not the one "crucified / dead in this case. Be very careful on the ground on which you are now treading.

Well Scott...now's the time to speak for yourself - not your friends, not your advocates, not your alias - just you. You started this thing, now it's up to you to end it. Welcome to the cyber world. You trusted it to "find" your wife", and now ironically, you are being judged by it.
We all make mistakes, but some consequences have changed history. What you DO will speak louder than words, but there is afterall, a time for words. I am very sorry for your pain, but this is the end result of a decision you made that is now in full view of the world - for every eye to judge. This is a sobering lesson to us all folks. we will reap what we sow. Everyone - do the right thing - take the high road.

Well....sneaker wave or not, on that day, at that time, a sneaker wave was not even necessary. The ocean was in such precarious conditions - reported swells of up to 20FT @Neskowin, that no one in his right mind should have anywhere near Proposal Rock. I;m telling you guys - I was there. The WORST conditions of the whole weekend were from about 1pm - night fall Nove. 29th. By early next morning...around 1:30am Sunday, the strars were out - beautifully clear and Sunday was a gorgeous day. Again....Napper could not have picked a more dangerous, hazardous time to be where they were. I don't know how these FACTS can be explained any differently?!

seacaptdon......you've hit the nail on the head. This really is a case study in personal character. WHO people really are at their core when the chips are down speaks volumes more than any accusations or defenses on this forum. We were at Proposal Rock that day - in fact the whole weekend. Indeed, Napper could not have chosen a more hazardous time for his "walk to the rock". It was the most foolish thing he could do. But it is not possible to judge motive - only actions - and his actions that day....from what we witnessed, to all the news articles, interviews and mostly, his posting by his friends, have been most revealing. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to follow this story and realize it is riddled with fog...much thicker than the fog that engulfed Prop. Rock on that day. I am so relieved to hear you are in contact with the family. They are my primary concern. Please keep us posted as to the fund for the family and if there is a way to contact you without having to be this forum. God bless your efforts in this matter.
