re: Infidel Pride's comment.
The difference that people like Infidel Pride and others should realize is that Sikhs hold India to a higher standard, and the failings of India's democracy, polity, and justice systems in regards to minorities only add to the level of frustration at the fruits of freedom not being realized despite all the sacrifices surrounding 1947 and afterwards.

Sorry to take it off topic, but Vikrant your comment required a response. For the record, I dislike people who believe in entitlement and having worked with enough Indians and visited India enough times I recognize the sense of entitlement and superiority the upper castes have versus rural peasants and low caste hindus, etc...

Also, don't kid yourself caste system was a creation of Brahmins/ Pandits - Manu might have his name attached to them (laws of Manu), but he's not the only one, it doesn't matter that there are divisions amongst the Brahmins also.

Also, I wrote that CASTE System came back into vogue AFTER the advent of the British and post-British rule. So, I recognize the evil of caste being in Punjab today and having made a comeback.

I'm not a religious bigot, so as a result, I'm not only concerned with Sikhs, but also the lower caste Hindus who always get the short straw... who if they didn't convert moved to the Punjab from other states, which if you look at any census you'll see that Punjab has the highest proportion of SC in India as part of its population, even though Haryana is next door and equally agricultural. The difference being the caste differences being muted in Punjab, where caste stigma wasn't there to the extent in other states at the times of the Sikh Gurus and Khalsa Raj... The advent of the British and post-British rule no doubt bringing much of this caste stigma back into vogue.
