We have to show this country that there is another way that does not rely on the government. It is a mixture of self-reliance, sacrifice, and compassion. If we can prove we can take of our own communities, then there can be an alternative to government-led living. Show people that there is somewhere else to turn. It is up to you and me to change the direction of this country. Change takes time and effort. If we put out the effort and lead, we could change the future but it starts with changing the future of those around us. Our task is clear. We have to look inward and demand it of ourselves make these changes. “Be the Change you want to see in the world.” So help out a struggling neighbor who has fallen on hard times. Get together with friends and family. Help out that friend down the street whose spouse is away at war fighting for us. Always remember what it is that we are fighting for.
We should start at home with our spouses and kids. They are our world. It should be most important to us to make life better for them. Our kids are the future. We should take time to educate them about the importance of helping others, of volunteering, of serving at church, of being a good family member, of being a good leader, of helping others. In our country I am sure that it is difficult to figure out how to feed and employ an entire nation like the US.
We should all do our part to remember what this country was founded on and our forefathers had in mind when this nation was born. If you read up on Jefferson, Adams, Locke, etc. you will find that we were founded as a collective of communities. A network of friends and families that unite together to form this great nation. At the heart of it all is taking care of our little corner of the earth. But what does that look like? We live in time where “things” have never been so plentiful yet time for our neighbors, friends, and family is at a premium. We need to get back to basics of foundation. The people closest to us. If we can’t help those around us, then what are we fighting about?
what is it that you are unhappy about? What were your thoughts on the speech?
Christians should be wary. I agree that in this country, freedom of religion reigns. However, we should not, as a nation founded on Christian princples, bend over backwards to accomodate the "needs" of any religion. There should be no bais in the distribution of religious freedom. Christianity is under attack in this country. We should avoid sacrificing what we believe to make others more comfortable. We should be understanding, friendly, and open hearted just as Jesus Christ has told us to be. It is not for us to judge. Freedom of religion is just that. If muslims could show some good faith and attempted to get the affairs in order, then we can talk about meeting somewhere in the middle and work hand in heand. It is not Christians who persecution non-Christians or murder our own or unfairly judge our women. Working together takes more than words. It takes real steps. Never lose yourself in the name tolerance.
I have not heard much made of the "We are the biggest muslim country" comment. It was all that long ago that President Obama was touting that we were not a Christian nation. I am not sure where he is taking this but I do not like the direction. Is there not much being made of this because it is not a big deal or do people not know or care. I am shocked to see that I was the only one standing in the middle of street screeming last night. I figured everyone would outraged. With that said, how is that I can find information on 9-12 organizations in Central Indiana? I hope more people take this president more seriously because he is taking us down this new road that has never been seen.
