The city should sue the officers who are convicted of violating civil rights and get money that way I mean ... The DOJ says that officers violate people's rights 20% of the time when force is used. So, all you have to do is look at the records and get a list of all the officers who have been convicted of violating people's rights and then vacuum up the dollar bills.

Wait, what's that I hear you say? There aren't even that many complaints let alone convictions against officers? But surely the DOJ figures are accurate and not just extracted from the lower digestive tract of some analyst with no law enforcement experience? Oh, well - just a thought.

The DOJ could have easily avoided this mess by publishing their data and analysis, thereby easily supporting their claims and conclusions.

The City of Seattle could have easily avoided this mess by bending over and finding a happy place.

I know. If those patrol officers would just suck it up and allocate more money to the police department in the next budget ... Oh, what's that? You mean patrol officers answering 911 calls have no real say in the police budget? I'm confused then, why would this commenter sudgest that it was the responding officers faults there were not enough officers to give an immediate response? Perhaps the commenter was confused. What's that I hear you say? Citizens have more sway convincing city council to allocate more money to emergency responders? That can't be true otherwise the original commenter would have said what they said. Unless of course they are being alarmist and dramatic just for the sake of it. Say it isn't so on the Komo comment board.

My grandpa used to keep lots of pets. Deer, lion, elephant. He kept them in his study. I remember them looking down at me. He had them so well trained they didn't move a muscle.
