kpatwood, I read your post and it brought tears to my eyes. Congratulations to your wife and also a huge welcome to the both of you. And a pre-congratulations to you. Please post when you are official. We would all like to give you both a cyber hug. How awesome the 2 of you think so seriously about placing your hand over your heart when pledging to the American flag, when our President failed to do so. Many of us have taken for granted what America has meant to us. I know I did until 9/11. What a shock that was. Now we are all very aware of the freedoms we are loosing. I would like to suggest a very credible website you might be interest in regarding illegal immigration. www.numbersusa.com I think you will find it useful and you would be a asset to the website.

From where did you get this information? To say most of Mexico is infected is pretty wild. Not saying it's not true, I would just like to see the information.

cont.
If you use the government's logic, there is no reason to stay home from work or school because you have already infected your co-workers and other students. Staying home is like "closing the barn door after the horse gets out". If KWilliams is correct, maybe that's why they aren't closing the borders - so the Mexican people can get over here to get our meds. Whatever, our government is asking us to "contain" the flu but our government isn't doing anything to "contain" the flu. This is not about illegal immigration. They probably don't cross at the legal areas anyway. It's about Americans and Mexicans crossing back and forth every day for shopping, work etc... People that are infected are coming in and people are going over getting infected and returning. They have already said it's a 6-7 day incubation period so you can't tell if individuals are infected or not.

Here is what I can't figure out, and maybe KWilliams has the answer. Napalitano and the President says there is no need to close the borders because the flu is already here in the U.S. I heard Napalitano state, no need to close the borders now because "people could be crossing right now that are infected." Also, she and the President has said it is like closing the barn after the horse gets out and there is a 6-7 day incubation period. Then they say "we" should contain it. How? By washing hands, see a dr. if you get ill, don't go to work or school and close the schools if the flu breaks out. REALLY? cont.

I found your comment interesting and "right on". As a former H.R. Director, that was one thing we could not ask on an application - race or anything that indicated your age, and rightly so. I recently received a census questionaire. It stated that it was being sent to "a select few". I answered one quetion - how many live in your household. It even asked questions like "what time do you get up to go to work?" Like that's anyones business. The info said I was required to return it, so I put a stamp on it and returned it. If we are all created equal, then they shouldn't need all that other information. Nothing irritates me more than when a questionaire asks if I own my own home or what is our total income. I understand the statistics issue, but that doesn't mean I have to play into them.

She is good cover for them. Plus what I can ascertain, she pretty much rules with an iron hand. I think the bigger question is, how did she get voted back in as Speaker. I think that in itself answers the question. I don't know how that works. I know the Speaker has to be re-elected every time there is a new congress but I don't know if it's by majority vote or 2/3 or what. Don't know if they CAN recall her or if it would take the actual state to recall her as a Rep. Anyone on here have any info on the procedure? I would love to hear it.

Actually I don't want one. I could care less what she thinks. But there are a heck of a lot of people in S.F. that do care and hang on her every word. Listen, if I support one more thing, I am going to need a bailout. I send some money to any cause that will fight this mess we are in.
