Thanks for the heads up regarding ConceptDraw MIndMap and Evernote. Evernote has been my main capture/store/search tool for several years. I have never been able to successfully store and manage my mind maps in Evernote, however. The process was too cumbersome. ConceptDraw has solved that problem. Now I can easily file my mindmaps in Evernote with one click. If I am using my iPad, I can open the map on the iPad from Evernote using iThoughts HD. iThoughts HD saves mind maps in ConceptDraw format.

Since downloading the trial version of ConceptDraw, I have sent several questions about the program to support. They have been quick to respond.

The other thing I like about this mind mapping program is the 'pages' function. Users can right click on a branch and save the branch as a new page in the same mind map document. Other mind mapping programs have the 'save branch to a new mind map' function. However, ConceptDraw combines each page in a single document, automatically links each new page (map) back to the main map, and makes navigation between pages very easy.

The only problem I have found is that ConceptDraw mindmap slows down and hangs up fairly frequently. Hopefully, this will be fixed.

For business users, ConceptDraw may be the best alternative to MindJet. Evernote is widely used in business. Maps can be shared using Evernote, since Evernote has good note-sharing capabilities. Also, ConceptDraw's project management and diagramming software comes in an integrated package - ConceptDraw Office. The Office suite is pricey at $499, but based upon my few days playing with this package, it is worth it. The diagramming program seems comparable to Omnigraffle, and the project management software is impressive. Support tells me that they are continually enhancing the integration between the three programs.
