I remember finding out about you when you had started reading Alanna and when you announced that you would read ALL of Tamora Pierce's books the person I was most excited for you to read about was Daja. And oh when you FINALLY got to Will of the Empress it was grand.

You used to mention, back in the Tortall series, that you wish you had these stories when you were younger, if you were recommending them to your younger self which one do you think you would push first??? When I was younger, I related a lot more to the Tortall books and really needed a character like Alanna to help me with what I was facing. However, as I got older, the characters like Kel and Daja became more relatable than they were when I first read them.

Lastly, thank you Mark. For being a wonderful human being, and making wonderful books even better. I'm joining you for Young Wizards, which will be completely new to me and I'm going to try very hard not to read ahead. Weee!!

p.s. super jealous that you got to meet Tamora Pierce...one day I hope to make it to an appearance she does, sigh.

Remember when Briar didn't care for anyone and Rosethorn only cared for Lark? As sad as it was to find out that these two were going to have to do their own thing for a bit, it was heartwarming to see them so openly admit affection. In their own ways of course.

During my first read of this book, this was the point where I told myself to start reading more closely. I went back and reread the chapters leading up to this one and then finished in a fell swoop. The scope of this section really hit home and just wowed me.

I totally loved when Evvy decided she wanted to be Rosethorn. Rosie was one of the characters I aspired to be when I first encountered these books. But Weishu terrifies me. No one should have that much power.

Same. It's so bittersweet that we've reached the last piece here. This is going to be so great.

I also wanted to say Thank You so much Tamora Pierce for creating the opportunity for people like us to come together over such wonderful books. I've been a fan forever and now I'm a fan of Mark too!
