My Russian is terrible but I did study Russian and travel in Russia and it has made me a P&V fan. The atmospheric sense of reading about Russia is there in P&V translations that imho Garnett cannot recreate and transcends Malcolm's short examples. Though I do think in the second example the parentheticals are more appropriate than the way Garnett translates Anna's restlessness. The Victorian-ness in Garnett is much too present.

I'm a lesbian who has been looking for a new show to watch that already has a couple seasons wrapped so I can binge and Person of Interest had been mentioned on the gay media sites. I go on vacation in two weeks and need something! But now, nope. Never that show.

Anyone got any recs for a show where someone like me is happy for more than three episodes or so?

Nordstrom Rack. I think I purchased all of my wedding guest dresses there.

WRT formality - depends on the wedding, generally if (most of) it is outside you can be more casual but I've been to very formal weddings in the summer. Can you find out what the bridesmaids are wearing for dresses and shoes? That could be a good guide.

I'm swan queen trash that stopped actually watching OUAT because the fanfic is so much better.

That sounds like a great prompt for a coffee shop AU: coffee skeptic becomes barista for the $ but gorgeous regular customer convinces them the bitter beverage is sometimes the sweetest of all.

Well more coffee shop AUs should definitely be written. Unlimited coffee shop AUs should be written. But reading too many coffee shop AUs may have given me unrealistic expectations regarding barista crushes.
