If enough Toasties are interested in MONTREAL, I propose a meetup/wake tomorrow, on July 2nd to mourn the death of a favourite website. If anyone's interested, let's meet at Kafein or Le Biftheque around 7pm. Comment if you're coming!

And also, quick question: Do you have any info on how to get added to the slack group?

There is?

Just tried to join, hopefully I'll make some cool new friends. And yes, didn't expect the Globe to be so cheap?? It sounds like such a tourist thing that I absolutely will have to do it. And all the museums!

Hey guys! I'll be traveling to London on July 22nd before leaving for Edinburgh on August 1st. Anyone have recs for a Canadian toastie? Suggestions for unusual things to do and what not to miss? Wanna hang out? Want me to bring you some weird canadian shit? i dunno!

I'm also thinking of going to the Isle of Skye via train during that time, so this might be a long shot, but if anyone wants to join me, who else better than a stranger on the internet?

I'll ask again next open thread, but I'll be in London from July 22nd to August 1st! Any London toasties have recommendations for a (super cool) Canadian traveling alone? Any cool sights I should check out, besides the obvious touristy ones? Tips? Advice? Want me to haul over some Canadian snacks or packages for you free of charge?

hit me up :D

IT'S FASCINATING TO SEE WHERE THIS MOVIE /ALMOST/ BRUSHES UP AGAINST COMMENTING ON REAL LIFE POLITICS, BUT THEN JERK AWAY AT THE LAST MINUTE FOR FEAR OF OFFENDING ANY MEMBER OF ITS MASSIVE BILLION DOLLAR AUDIENCE. it's like watching the ebb and flow of the tide.

Like, that moment when you see Sam Wilson in underwater guantanamo bay, and he makes a SUPER QUICK Mark Fuhrman reference, and you realise you're watching a black man being unfairly incarcerated without due process. And nearly everyone representing official government agencies is like...white...and most of the people hurt by the Avengers are...not white...and I'm sitting there wondering how long can people argue about this on screen without someone straight up saying the words "imperialism" or "american supremacy" or whatev.
