Gee Marilee, you are so astute at pointing out 'places' to view in the Cultural District that have to do with our favorite son, Grant Wood, but you forgot to mention his rededicated stained glass window that again graces our Veteran's Memorial Facility on May's Island. Did this 'just' slip your mind, or was it a specific oversight? And yes, I am familiar with the little brick and wood home in which he did his most famous work, since I used to live opposite the building on the other side of the alley, and am also a Masonic brother.

Just in, he is going to Florida, where they are currently doing pre-disaster consulting... this is true.

Of course, after hauling down the money that Levy did the last 20 months from Cedar Rapids, he should be able to take some time off without concern for any additional income, right?

and there was an insurance payment and then the demolished buildings were hauled to a public, unlined, landfill at twice the going rate for dumping fees. couldn't happen here, just couldn't...

but when Sarah gets the City Council to demolish and construct and pay for the overhead including her fee for a facility that she will run, without any oversight, there won't be any problem with the soil, even though Adjusters Int'l considered it a highly contaminated site due to industrial chemicals that were used before the Flood. I won't be buying ANY fresh produce from this site. does the term 'Love Canal' remind anyone of what toxins in the soil will do??

Well, I give Marion credit for beating Sarah Ordover to her fantasy of having a Famers Market in CR, since she only wanted it so the taxpayers would build it, hire her, and provide all of the operating cash. Marion got it going and will have the market open for all to benefit anyone, rather than Ordover's vision to be only for the upper crust and not for "those lowly people," per her.
