Some are afraid to leave the GOP. They want to recover it to have the money power for the coming election. Good luck. The leaders of the GOP are "moving to the center". They are backing muddy water Republicans and leaving the good guys behind. Do yourselves a favor, don't waste your money on the Republican Party. Send it to the guys they have left behind. Do your homework. Make your vote count for something other than garbage. The leaders of the R. party are playing the same old game; you can't get anything done in Washington without (moral and ethical) compromise. Say what you mean, and mean what you say, means nothing to them.
I'm thinking that 30 minutes a day writing to my representatives is realistic. I usually write when I'm really frustrated. Maybe it's time to buzz around their heads for awhile. Kind of like when your kid pokes you until they get your attention. Drives you nuts, but it works.
How 'bout I just stick him in the foot and you can slap him around while he runs in circles?
I would like to encourage everyone to write their representatives and ask them to have the guts to stop playing the Washington games. Let them know that they will not stand alone. I believe that they will be overwhelmed with support. Wouldn't it be nice to know who the good guys are? Let them know you will back them up. Maybe they will find the spine they have lost since they were infected with politics.
A particularly nasty troll at that. Big headed, clumsy, and with a tiny little brain. Somebody call Legolas with his lovely bow.....
You are getting very annoying. Go find something else to do besides distract people. Your looking for answers that have no base in truth. There aren't any. Last post to you scary friend.
It comes down to rights and where you believe they come from. Unalienable rights come from an unimpeachable source. Society is anything but unimpeachable. If you believe that society gives us rights, then you must also believe that they can take them away. Slavery comes to mind. If the majority of society want to take your life, liberty, or your pursuits from you, then that is OK as long as the majority or the persons in power agree. Unalienable Rights were the foundation of the Declaration of Independence. Life, Liberty, Pursuit of Happiness. Everything else is choice. I can live in a society with a school, library, fire station, health care, or not. I choose. Well, not anymore. Regardless of my voice, the government is going to make me live how they want me to regardless of my unalienable rights. They are taking my freedoms from me.
Did you check out the stuff going on at Notre Dame? It reminds me what brought me to The 9/12 Project in the first place. It was about not being alone and feeling helpless. We do indeed surround them. I have always watched politics and wondered what it would take to drag me into them. I've never been so fired up. I'm willing to bet that rather than the negative press on a commencement walk-out, Obama will regretfully decline in an attempt to avoid "disunity", and then play the martyr for that hate-mongering university. The press will have a hay-day with that one. But proof is out there that we are making a difference. Obama will be slowed down, and we've got the Republican leadership on the road licking our boots. I love all of the work going on behind the scenes between protest. This is great. Hope your meeting goes well.
