is it brand new or a refurbished unit?
If it is a replacement it is possible it is refurbished and could have SHSH blobs on cydia server if the person before had it jailbroken..
That would let you have an untethered jailbreak at least. You can check by using tiny umbrella and see if it can fetch the blobs from the Cydia server.

You don't need to use redsn0w since the custom firmware made with pwnage tool installs cydia.

sn0wbreeze is for windows you have a MAC so use pwnage tool as in the link Frank55 gave you
