I hope the families of this mans victems can overcome their grief and move forward.

It is so upsetting that these things continue to happen. No one should have to be vicimized like that, unfortunately there will always end up being someone who feels the need to cause as much damage to others as possible in the fastest amount of time. I hope people realize that had it not been guns, this sick man would have used something else. Guns don't kill people, sick people who have apathy toward humanity kill people.

It's so sad to see how little people really know about their own citizenship. I wonder if they would think about it more if they knew that it could be ripped from under their feet or from the feet of their child.

My family are veterans, they faught in the civil war to establish and protect this land, my uncle spent most of his life fighting for this country in the gulf and 9/11, my father served half a dozen years in the army, and now people don't even recognize my child as a citizen. How incredibly sad.

The State Department was contacted on multiple occasions, if it was so easy for a regular person to think up the solution such as "Contact the State Department" it would have been solved through all the senators that have been contacted at some point within the last 13 years don't you think?

How is questioning why I was in Mexico going to fix my daughters situation. And yes, the problem is that not ALL children born to two US Citizens are US Citizens, that's the entire problem because they should be.

I may end up having to do that. I will wait until the passport office makes a decision.

They may be eligible under a law for undocumented parents with children or they may be breaking the law. She's not either. To my knowledge Oregon passed a law several years ago that one must provide a birth certificate to recieve assistance because too many illegal immigrants were using fake Social Security Numbers. I was immediately sent notification of her ineligibility due to birth certificate issues, and was then rerouted to Social Security Administration to recieve medical services for her, since she is ineligible through employment insurance. I did not find out until last month I needed to provide citizenship for her at the hearing. If I had known she would be denied for that too i would have initially taken another route all together.

I know there are more, but it has been 12 years and at this moment I cannot remember them all. I have ommited those who I have worked with who are not state or goverment officials such as various news papers, reporters, businessmen, lawyers ect because those would be too long of a list.

Yeah, not mentioning that she has severe medical issues that her Statelessness is negatively effecting, I think we can all agree that that's worked out just great over the last 12 years right? Last I checked, privacy rights are only issued for those with citizenship, those who's parents refuse to allow it, and those who are technically 12. Being that she has no documentation, technically she isn't an American, she doesn't have an age or a name and I (As her parent) believe that mentioning her detailed medical issues to gain her the rights she clearly needs is the lessor of the evils. I can either ignore it, refuse to mention how pressing the issue is and have people blow off the situation (Like that which has been done for 12 years) or I can make you feel uncomfortable so that this story can get through to people and she can get the coverage she needs for the issues she has. Cerriina accepts who she is, she knows what she deals with and isn't afraid of making people aware of it, so why are you? If my daughter had been at all reluctant, we would not have aired it, but she wants people to know what she deals with every day, and she should have recognition that she deserves because it will get her the citizenship she deserves for the adequate medical coverage she needs.
No one is asking you to be sorry for how you feel, we are simply asking you to consider how she feels. She wants people to know, so that people will help. I would say that your feelings are pretty disposable on this issue compared to hers, especially since this has everything to do with her, and not a lot to do with you.
