I don't see that welfare IS designed to get people back to work. Too many people, especially young mothers, can make a LOT more staying at home on welfare, than taking a minimum wage job, which pays LESS than welfare AND causes them to earn too much to continue receiving any welfare benefits. Welfare causes total dependence on the government.

(Daniela123 had posted a comment that ACORN and 9-12 members have about the same membership, and that 9-12 has only been a group for a short time, and that we will grow larger than ACORN. )

A few things to consider about ACORN ~ they are organized and aggressive. They are out and visible in large numbers - they do not have skimpy participation; they FLOOD an area with workers. They are out and visible at MANY events - not just one or two.

If we want to compete with/beat them, we also will need to become an organized group of volunteer workers, providing phenomenal volunteer participation and WE must be seen and heard everywhere.

TEA parties are one way to begin.

What are other ways that we could physically unite, as a group, and provide any type of direction, help, etc to an area that would help promote the Constitution and the values and principles?

Is there a method, in place - and if not, could there be - that would truly allow us to know HOW a state WANTED their elected official to vote on a particular piece of legislation? How do we know if an official does not vote according to the choice of the state?

Just because WE want a vote or decision to go a certain way does not mean that is the opinion of the majority of the state. HOW can we create a process that is public and transparent, that would allow us to know HOW the majority of the state wanted to vote and IF the officials voted that way.... in order to make them accountable?

Surely, she meant use the SHOWER only 3x a week - because of all of the water that really is wasted when showering - and then use the bath tub the other 4+ times, which helps to conserve water....?....

I checked it out with SNOPES at http://www.snopes.com/politics/taxes/teaparty.asp , and they pretty much confirm that is correct. HOWEVER.... THEY OFFER OTHER SOLUTIONS!!
