I tend to agree. No value in empty threats. However, there needs to be an unspoken line that, once crossed results in serious consequences.

Although I agree that Powell made a mistake in backing Obama, I doubt he led many others to vote for him. Those who cast their vote for Obama did not care which direction Powell was going.

At the same time, while I am glad he is starting to see the error of his ways, it is too little too late.

I hate to say it, but I agree. As much as I've been displeased with the republican party of late, I don't see a third party coming to power within the next four years.

Does this encourage loose behavior more than the availability of condoms?

The estrogen from this pill is meant for emergency use and not to be used on a regular basis. A one time burst of estrogen is not going to damage a 17 year old female. As a matter of fact, it would not damage a 17 year old male either.

As for influence of a parent on their offspring, you really should have made your mark by 17.

Destroying a growing life, I guess I just have a different opinion there, and the sex slave comment was just ridiculous.

Does the government also assume the role of parent by not setting a minimum age for purchasing condoms or even aspirin for that matter? I guess I don't see the problem because they are not forcing these drugs on anyone.
I personally see more of an overstepping with bans of things specifically allowed for in the constitution or taking insane amounts of taxes only to give it away to private companies or foreign governments.

The FDA definitely was not gung-ho to rush this onto the market. As a matter of fact, they waited longer to allow this on the market than most drugs.

If that is how they were raised, they will almost certainly come to you in a situation like that. Remember too, there are parents who will not be approachable or willing to listen.
