Yeah, I like Tim Ferris but his 4 Hour Body stuff just didn't work for me.
15 years ago @ Fitness Philippines - WHY DO PEOPLE PLAY? · 0 replies · +1 points
You're right in that life is better when people still engage in any sort of play. Play is performed for itself, because it is an activity performed entirely for fun and not for anything else (rewards, recognition, etc). It also allows people to escape the stresses of every day life because play does not affect one's reality (eg: when you lose in a game you play, life still goes on normally, unlike, say, if you lose big time at the tables in Vegas).
Anyway, I'm glad that you liked the article. I genuinely enjoyed researching this because I found it so fascinating how many theories concerning play have accumulated over the years.

Yeah, I actually did read about those scenes in Wikipedia recently. I didn't add those notes in (maybe I should LOL) because I wanted this article to be about the movie I saw. I make it a habit to stay after the credits in pretty much every movie I see (especially ones such as this) and the print I saw didn't run those scenes. Honest to God, they didn't. My guess is that some prints didn't contain these extra scenes (I live in the Philippines, if that makes any difference), or the people projecting the movie just did a really lousy job (they honestly did, though. In the screening I attended, the sound became wonky from time to time, the video would go at odd angles sometimes, and other strange oddities. Not a lot of people saw the film in my country, so I guess the theater people just didn't care LOL).
In any case, yeah, I really should add those in as an "Update" of sorts and give you a shoutout for pointing the scenes out. Thanks, Dude!

A good starting point is the simple breathing exercise I outlined here. Try it out and see if it makes you feel better. After a while, you'll get the hang of it and be able to apply the technique while doing other activities as well.
