It didn't make any sense and I spent some time trying to figure it out. Sometimes I am perplexed by the cultural differences between the US and the UK

YESSSS. And after today, let us never speak of it again.

You know, the "bad guys" don't HAVE to have a plan. They can just take over the world and destroy the people that they hate. BUT DO NOT SAY THEY HAVE A PLAN IF THEY DO NOT HAVE ONE!

I spent about three months without internet or cable and wound up watching a ton of public television programming, which included the planning and zoning committee for my area. I knew I finally had to ante up for cable when I starting knowing the codes for the different zones and then got upset when my favorite "character" aka the lady in charge of tallying the votes, retired.

AHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA!!!!!

I think the fact that they didn't know what was going to happen makes all the "surprises" actually surprising, unlike most TV shows where you can see the plot lines from miles away.

The other side of that coin is the "And they have a plan." line in the opening that ENRAGES me every. single. time. I see it. Bc they don't have a plan. And it would not have been that big of a deal, except starting in Season 3 when we hang out in the cylon basestar and they are bickering like a small town planning and zoning committee, it is supremely obvious that no one on the writing staff had bothered to think through a long term plan for what the cylons actually wanted.

I cannot wait to rewatch this whole series, but there is always something sad about finishing a great tv show (or book or movie) for the first time. Sure I'll be able to see it again, but never for the first time.

I never thought that Sokka was going to turn into my favorite character, but he just makes my heart feel so big....

"I can't believe the captain remembered my birthday!"

That may have been the best scene EVER.

So this is my first time watching this and I want to say it has been a great adventure. I haven't commented a whole lot, but I have loved to read what everyone has had to say. I am genuinely sad that in an hour, this is all going to be over.

I am one of the people that is watching this show for the first time and I feel like I have to comment on this episode even though what I wind up saying is going to sound like a bunch of jibberish.

I just really can't comprehend how this episode exists. It is that amazing. I've watched it three times now and I just cannot comprehend how it exists. Every vignette is perfect. The colors are perfect. Each character is given a chance to perfectly explain who they are and somehow this was done for a kid's show.

Toph who is big and brave and mouthy also has insecurities. One being the fact that she can't see what she looks like and does actually want approval from the people around her.
Katara is a water bender and a mother figure and self assured and strong and she is the one that doesn't care what other people think about her. Sure she was the one who suggested the day spa, but she also laughed at the mud monster joke and then wasn't going to take any lip from the randoms who were trying to shame her and Toph.
Iroh, who has to be the best older person in children's entertainment since Dumbledore, is going to spend the rest of his life trying to help and care for everyone that he meets because he couldn't help and care for the one person he should have.
Aang is going to save the world... one baboon at a time.
Sokka gets distracted by pretty things, but he is witty and isn't afraid of failure. He chooses to live as much as he can, even if he makes a fool of himself every once and a while.
Zuko doesn't know how to be anything but hard and abrasive, but he is learning.
MOMO! who is an animal, but is full of sadness because Appa is gone because he loves Appa.

Gosh this turned out rambly and instead of posting it, I should probably delete it, but yeah. So those are some of my feeling about watching this episode.
