What's more - Bernie gouges a stick in the eye of Obama-lovers - youth unemployment is even worse. For young high school graduates, unemployment is 33% for whites, 36% for Hispanics, & 51% for blacks !! In keeping w/ the economic-theory illiteracy of leftwingers, Sanders' preposterous, proposed minimum-wage increase would make that far worse. The point is that he's speaking to a concern that is evident to ordinary Democrats around the country, but that is concealed by theObamaRegime's unctuous proclamations of economic recovery.
Likewise Bernie's attacks on Obama pal billionaire power over the gubmit, ring true in an age where Hillary gets $300K speaking fees, & where PrezObama's campaign contributions from WallStreet have earned him the nickname President Goldman Sachs. Bureq, of course, attacked WallStreet on the campaign-trail, but by now the pretend anti-capitalist Dem-faithful have figured out that it is WallStreet that's calling the shots for theChicagoPolitician. As TheEconomist says, "Forget the 1% — it is the Obama-supervising-.01% who are really getting ahead in America."
TheNYT noted this summer, the benefits of this "recovery" have gone almost entirely to the Democrat-aligned rich. "In the first 3yrs of the current expansion, incomes actually fell for the bottom 90% of earners, even as they rose nicely for the top 10%. The result: The top 10% captured an impossible-seeming 116% of income gains during that span. ... One percent of the population, in the first three years of the current expansion, took home 95% of the income gains."
Your doctrinal slamming of Republicans is hypocrisy.
The ..Democrat.. Party has been a Socialist party since 1936. They have not wanted to confess to it, because they have been ..concerned.. w/ the bad p.r. that Europe has given the word `socialism'. This is an aside to the word `small-d-democrat' = an adherent of Separation-of-Powers democracy who embraces the Wisdom evident in limited-government; as opposed to `Democrat' = activist for an expansive not-counterbalanced executive w/ a limitless view of state-power. Post-Constitutional. Nothing `democratic' at all in that Party. Demagogic?, yes.
