Never been to Boston, New Orleans, or Portland. I would like to get to all of them. I would also like to get to every state at least once. I am around 30 right now.

While it is trendy, I have the travel bug too. I would much rather spend my hard earned money on a trip than anything else. My favorite memories and stories are from visits to interesting places around the world. I don't need a lavish vacation (I am happy in a hostel), but I have to spend money to get there.

That said, I have enjoyed trips to Omaha and Billings as much as other trips to more expensive destinations. For me, the joy is experiencing something new, not experiencing something expensive.

Outside of travel, my favorite places to spend money are also experience related. I don't mind a $50 night at the bars because I enjoy experiencing night life with my friends. An expense well worth it. Much more value to me than shoes or clothes.

It all depends on the point of view, as you say, and I am content with mine. I don't judge others as long as their spending is for their own reasons, not keeping up with someone else's expectations.

Congrats on the raise. Always a good feeling.

I usually do a combination of saving for retirement, saving for my house down payment fund, and a little bit to the general living side of things. I support a little bit of fun for getting more money, but responsibility first.
