No! But I'm going on leave from work for a bit in a month and it's now on the tip-top of my list. What I *have* done is convince my partner to honeymoon in Alaska so I could see bears IRL and obsessively watch and rewatch every grizzly-based documentary I can get my hands on (including "Growing Up Grizzly" and "Growing Up Grizzly 2" on VHS).

I am 1000% a bear person and I don't keep that quiet. If I could tend and love a grizzly as a companion animal without fundamentally violating its bear nature, I would absolutely do so.

I'm 21 weeks right now and I like to occasionally stomp around the house with my arms over my head intoning, "I CONTAIN TWO BEATING HUMAN HEARTS. PROSTRATE YOURSELF BEFORE ME."

Embracing grandiosity makes up for at least some of the discomfort/lack of dignity/crummy digestive functions.

Good for you! I biked the coast (from Florence to San Francisco) and it was glorious and amazing and more rainy than I had expected. I'm here if you have any questions about planning and I HIGHLY recommend the trip.
