Most people can afford their childrren. Problem lies when everything doesn't go just "perfect" as someone gets a terminal illness, lose a job, things that are unforseen, etc. Are we that type of society where we have no heart for those with these situations? Sure there are loafers and people who take advantage of the system, always have been and always will be, but we shouldn't punish innocent children in the meantime!
Neither did I, however totally different society now!
Singing is the last thing they do in class. My daughter is learning how to read in preschool...which isn't even in the curriculm until 1st grade, tells you how out of touch with the systme you are. Plus, I wrote this after I have spent the day with my child and had gone to bed. there isn't a lack of g'ment money, just a lack of knowledge on how to spend it!
Culver took a pay cut when he was Govenor to help with the budget...now we have him douple dipping into funds that are already spread thin. Grant Wood is doing layoffs, due to the new preschool roll out, there will more than likely be layoffs, etc. He promised jobs and that our economy would be so much better within months, well we are waiting!
This is a sad day for our children, our future! We can afford the full price, but know so many who aren't as fortunate...shame onALL of us for not supporting our children to be as successful as they can be!
I like how she makes the news every day by disagreeing with everyone.
The meltdown happened on W's watch stupid.
YOu are correct you didn't, it was the person before you, so my apologies. Well some of those people who can't pay for the preschool, I know one 1st hand, at 30 developed stage 4 cancer and couldn't work, lost their job and only had 1 income. Why would it be those children's fault that this very misfortuante thing happened to their family and possibly losing their parent, and having the worry of being left behind. Bad things do happen to people, just thinking of those people!
Well didn't you just blame Culver...you guys are the ones who like to point the finger 1st. Actually I care greatly about our children and our future, for THEY are our future. They need to keep the 4- year old preschool so we can reach out to all of those innocent children who aren't as fortunate as others, and hopefuly that would lead to down the road where teachers can get back to doing what they do best....teaching!
