Eric@KATU: The two teenagers are charged as adults - that's why police released their names. I will make that more clear in the story.
Eric@KATU: The photo was taken by the Associated Press so it can be used by all AP members. But since we don't want to look like everyone else, I've since changed the photo to something we shot.
Eric @KATU - I am not leaving an opinion here but just wanted to point out that everyone can read the full 144-page report at the link I have provided above at the end of the story. It may answer some questions. The blurb that is currently posted is simply a synopsis of some findings in the report; the entire report goes into much greater detail about who authored it, solutions, etc...
Eric@KATU - There's no mistake or typo here - his body was found upstream from where he was last seen, according to authorities. The sheriff's office did not explain how that could have happened. Perhaps those who last saw him were mistaken about where he disappeared? We'll try to find out more.
Eric@KATU: We checked with TriMet to ask if the top execs took a pay cut. TriMet spokeswoman Mary Fetsch said that they are required to take a two-week furlough this calendar year and may have to take another two weeks of unpaid time off next year. I have now added that information to the story above.
Eric@KATU: Yes, that was a misspelling. It should be CASE. The word has been changed. Sorry for the problem.
Eric@KATU: Yeah, the Associated Press screwed that one up. Sorry it got past me before I posted the story. I will fix it.
Eric@katu: Well, Mr. Diggles, soy sauce spilled all over the highway. (See the last sentence in the story) I guess that's why soy sauce was put in the headline. But thanks for noticing. We're trying to make the headlines a bit more enticing than "Truck overturns on I-5."
Eric@KATU: Just trying to be funny, Jim. Don't take it personally. :)
Eric@KATU - The initial Amber Alert did not contain photos of the child. KATU is not withholding information. We update the stories as we get more information, which will include photos. Would you rather we not post any information and wait until we get a photo to tell people to be on the lookout for this child?
