I appreciate Samuel Jackson's honesty. But, what is the excuse for the large number of white people who voted for him for the same reason. As Shelby Steele would point out, they were consumed with "white guilt", ignoring his obvious lack of qualification for the job. Caught up in the history of the event, good judgement took a vacation and now we have the aftermath to deal with.
I'm waiting for someone like Carolla to draw a line between this kind of policy making and progressive politicians. Whether it's Democat liberals or Republican "conservatives", defending freedom is a lost art in this culture. Taking freedon for granted, assuming it will always be there, is allowing government progressives to march forward, steam rolling individual liberty in the search for utopia. The people of the nation have become so docile, they are allowing it to happen right under their collectivist noses. If I lived in CA, I would join Carolla on his beach march, becoming a smoker for at least one day for the sake of solidarity.
I have to agree. Watching this ad left me wondering: what if we had a POTUS that could unite the country around a grand theme, not try to divide it around a grand political strategy. In my mind, it makes Obama look petty and small in contrast.
"the comedy, which focuses on a senator turned overwhelmed vice president"
I suggest a slight concept change...make that a "senator turned overwhelmed president" and it would classify as a reality series.
That does it...I call for a boycott of Ted Nugent music, meat products, books, hunting equipment, his radio show...Oh wait...I like Ted Nugent..."you got me in a stranglehold, baby....". Nevermind.
That does it...I call for a boycott of whoever this group is...Oh wait...I don't listen to them and have no plans to do so in the future. Nevermind.
That does it...I'm boycotting this show. Oh wait...I don't watch it. Nevermind.
I admit I had my doubts that this would happen, but I'm glad to be wrong about it. Kudos to Mila for keeping her word and attending.
Well done, MGM. However, I must differ on one point. I don't think these attacks originated with the DNC. Using a mafia analogy, it's always the guy who greets you with a smile that you have to worry about. The establishment Repubs have decided that their best chance to unseat Obama is Romney and they will not let anyone stand in the way of that. The problem for them is that the base of the party wants anybody but Romney. So, they have to eliminate any competition that shows signs of upsetting their strategy.
Having said that, the DNC sees this as an opportunity. They can join in the fun of beating up on a conservative and send a message to any other black conservative entertaining thoughts of higher office: "we are not on your side if you don't think like we do and won't lift a finger to help or defend you".
Of course, this all speculation...I could be wrong.
I've been a DirecTV subscriber for a long time. After football season is over, I'm cutting the cable cord and going InterneTV. I have Amazon Prime, Netfilx and GBTV all through a Roku. There will be a brief adjustment period, then I won't look back, wondering why I didn't do this sooner.
