This provision is already in (House version) H.R. 3200. It allows the IRS to enforce the healthcare mandate through the Tax code. H.R. 3200 mandates that your existing insurance meet 'acceptable' standards proposed by the health care exchange committee, and if you don't have insurance through the exchange or 'acceptable' private insurance, then you will be levied a 2.5% (of annual income) penalty through the I.R.S. and they don't impose a limit in that version. Keep 'em outta our healthcare!
Nice! Thank you Deanna!!!
OK, since I don't have the ability to go back through the entire 55 pages to see if anyone has suggested it, could we, in the short term, form a "We the People" lobbyist group? I'm sure we could find members on the site that would be willing to spend a day or two in Washington every year to "lobby" for these causes. I know I would. Maybe it's dumb, but it's a thought.

OK, the house passed the bill. If it gets to the President's desk, you know he will sign it. This bill is a "you made too much money" tax. They tried to do this to ExxonMobil a couple of years back but couldn't get traction on it. Now, I fear that nothing will stop them.
Everyone on here needs to write or call their congressmen! Tell them that it is un-american to impose a 90-100% tax on ANYONE! This is a slipperly slope that we DO NOT want to go down!
