Hurray for the horrifically named Kethocalypse!

Clearly I do not follow transit in Vancouver, because when I saw you complaining about these names on Facebook (or Twitter or wherever I saw it), I didn't pay much attention 'cuz I thought it was the TTC that was naming some sort of fair card, what with you being a Torontoian now and all.

I agree wholeheartedly that all these names suck, though I think I like Otter the best (by which I mean I dislike it the least). Umbrella, like you say, is a bit clever, but it's not practical. I mean, you can't say "I forgot to bring my Umbrella" because people will think you are talking about an actually umbrella! Compass and George are both, imho, just too boring to even consider. But Otters are cute. And if it helps, none of the Olympic mascots were otters.

I've lived in basement suites for a decade (oh god, that just made me very sad) and I've never, ever seen a dead mouse.

I'm sorry you had such a day of death.

Sure you aren't. Sure you aren't.

Doesn't that make you a wannabe-Not A Real Doctor?

Also, lack of a rap name was the *only* thing standing in the way of my rap career. So look out world, Dr. Pretentious B is in da house!

Yeah, you can't file them away into the other folders and then not ever go to those folders. A "to follow up" folder is pretty useless if you don't actually follow up. It's all part of a system, Kalev, all part of a system. You can't have your Inbox Zero without the system and eat it too! The site you link to (http://inboxzero.com/inboxzero/) has videos explaining it. </proselytizing>

Isn't BPA illegal yet, give that we know it is more evil than Michael? :D

I think Vancouver is also getting the city-wide composting soon too. Guess I should actually find out when Surrey gets it and how it works, come to think of it. The vast, vast majority of my garbage is compostable, so I'm glad we'll have it soon (even if it is more work).

Michael's pure evil notwithstanding, the other reason you will never get to Inbox Zero is that you are using your inbox to store "to do" items. Inbox Zero is not about getting everything accomplished that those emails represent - it's about processing them out of the inbox and into other appropriate locations (like "to reply to" or "to follow up on" folders) so that you don't have to re-look at them each time you open your inbox and waste time reprocessing them (Why is that there? Oh yeah, I want to download that file, but I don't have time. And why is that there? Oh yeah, I want to reply to Michael, but I'll do it later)

A lot of my coworkers drink cold beverages from Starbucks and they have the reusable Starbucks cup and straw that looks like the disposable kind (though they don't appear to seal, given that they have a hole for the straw in them).

Brent Skura explained the individually wrapped straw thing to me once - it's because people seem to have this compulsion to touch all the straws in the box and everyone is so worried about GERMS!

Have you had any flack from the Timmy's employees when you say "no bag!" I'm always saying that (whether at Timmy's, Subway, grocery stores, etc.) and there is a certain breed of employee that gets all pissy about it. Like how dare you try to do something just a little better for the environment.

Also, 1-3 Second Cup lemonades per day? I'd be worried about whether that's financial sustainable, in addition to environmentally sustainable!

Hey, speaking of the enviro, apparently Surrey is now going to get the city-wide composting. Finally!
