In todays game a very good QB is necessary, but this is a team game, and if the OL is bad and there are no "playmakers" around him, a good QB means nothing.

I think the book is still open when thinking of Ross, but I do see a couple of negatives during his regime. 1: his apparent inability to see J. Irelands complete incompetance at the GM position, which makes me think he won't know what he's doing while looking for Irelands replacement should he ever pull the trigger. 2: His obvious unwillingness to spend, we have cap space this year but according to all reports none of our key FA's will be signed, but we'll see what happens on that front, I hope I'm proven wrong. (Doesn't happen often lol)

For me when it comes to Reggie it all depends on the offence Miami runs, if they stay with that O from last year they need let him go, he's only 205 lbs and just isn't a fulltime between the tackles runner, nothing against him, he just isn't. But if Philbin is going to go to the WCO that GB runs Reggie is ideal!! RB, slot rec. WR whatever. L. Miller can run, but his blocking and receiving skills are way below Bush. D. Thomas, what can you say about D. Thomas... poster boy for Irelands total ineptness as a talent evaluator (well there was that whole P.White thing) he offers nothing special, he's not fast, or strong, or elusive, he doesn' catch the ball particularly well, and he gets hurt alot, I just don't get what some others see in him. J. Gray was always hurt w/ ND, always saw some potential when he played, but that wasn't much until his senior year, and I don't think he finished that. Thigpin's too small to be much more than a KR (but a good one)

A pass rusher would be nice, but everyone is always looking for a PR. We have way more pressing needs, WR's a TE, RG, CB's, and RB if we don't re-sign Bush, and I don't think we will. I don't see this front office signing any of our key FA's or any quality FA's on the open market, just like last year. Ross and Ireland are going on the cheap and we'll just have to deal with it, if I'm proven wrong by them then I will be the 1st to admit it, until then this is how I feel.

I hear ya buckeye, but I also saw where he already is being called a pussy and should have been cut, we've wasted higher picks then that 3 B4, may be best to cut our losses right away, so glad Ireland "nailed' that draft last year, his words not mine.

I think we need to just take Eifert with our 1st and move on, I have to admit I don't know much about Ertz. I read a couple of reports that said the fins won't be re-signing R. Bush or J. Long because they deel they already have their replacements in house, get this... RB Jonas Gray and TE Will Yeatman for LT!!!!! I got a baaaad feeling about this Ross/ Ireland combo, I think they're going on the cheap period, no Wallace, no Jenkins, no FA's.... AGAIN! I've been a Dolfan since the start in '66, but if these reports are true and we don't sign any of our key FA's, and only sign cheap FA's and draft picks........ Tryin to keep the faith that those reports were BS, but this could get bad. Thanks for letting me vent.

Hey Buckeye, I agree w/ you about Bowe, and on top of what you said he's slow for a WR. the difference between Wallace and hartline is that Wallace can take a 10yd pass and go the distance anytime he touches the ball, and he commands a double team because of it, Hartline is a good receiver but is not a YAC threat and usually can be handled with single coverage.

Agree we can't address everything in FA, but I think we could/ should get one of either Wallace or Jenkins at WR and one of Moore or Byrd at saftey in FA, & maybe a RG. If we don't go to the WCO and let Bush go, and we stay with the power running game then we'll need a strong LT (resign Jake?) Martin's not strong enough to man the weak side himself. IMO

Ya just had ta go and ref. the whole Pat White thing didn't ya Kev... lol (Ouch)(another Ireland gem) I do luv the TO's byrd gives you, just what this team needs. My 1st choice though would be W. Moore, living in ATL I've had the opportunity to watch him and he's the real deal, if we don't get either one of these 2 then I'd say skip the rest of this crop, don't think any of them are worth FA $$$$
