I am awed and terrified of that aspect of Japanese technology. Seat warmer is nice but I'm still very wary of everything else. Did you know there are ones that even play songs to mask the, er, "bathroom sounds" you make? God bless Japan.

I'm a Tyrion girl myself :) The Imp is pimp. Also, Arya, and surprisingly Jaime. I think he's the most well-developed character, yucky tendencies notwithstanding...

We have HBO and still haven't erased the recording of the first ep. Come over when you get a chance so you guys can watch it. Or listen to the audiobooks; downside: I've heard they're about 33 hours apiece.

We attended a Q&A with him just a few weeks ago and I must say I did not get the same impression. He rambled on for quite a bit about a lot of things that either did not make sense or did not sound like they were true. It was entertaining, don't get me wrong, but it was kind of the same level as getting cornered by your favorite drunk relative as he tells you random, long-winded stories.

Baaah, I think I blocked out the fact that they are remaking Oldboy. They are going to sanitize it and totally lose the F'ed up ending.

The book is great but pretty disturbing, particularly with regards to Hakan. There is one scene that is so incredibly tense that I had to put the book away to calm myself down a bit.

I don't like NOT giving things a chance, but so far Hollywood's track record for remaking amazing foreign films has been really, REALLY bad. The Departed was great but honestly Scorsese actually made his own movie out of "Infernal Affairs" instead of just stealing the idea.

Ok, foreign-movie-geek-rant over.
