I hope you're right and I'm wrong...I don't see it (yet?) and it really worries me. It's not that I think our country has become apathetic, but lazy, maybe, too busy, probably. I know, for me, it takes real assertiveness to get on the computer, bang out a letter and mail it...e or snail, it takes EFFORT. If folks only blog, then we are in trouble as a country. Hangin' in there until the end for better or worse.

You are assuming that our current mix of politians, for the most part, possess common sense. They, for the most part, do NOT. Statistics as you mention, albeit they are true, do not register with them. What does register with them is your VOTE and the thought that "OMG! I might lose my job if I don't do this or that"! But you have to TELL them! Write/email to your representative. Tell them what you just said. Don't stop with this blog posting that makes you feel a little better yet does nothing but discuss your feelings among those of us who, most likely, agree with you! Discuss your feelings with those that do not agree with you.

I have heard that the model your are referring to is a great firearm. Get extra mags, though, and carry them with you, too.

You know what I think is a real problem with America? It's voice! It's going to the wrong people and the wrong direction. We read/reply on blogs everyday and MOAN AND GROAN about what's wrong w/ America, what we'd do to fix it, etc. Who's reading it? Most likely, the very same people who are in agreement with you, but most certainly NOT your US representatives! You feel better after your blog posting, but what the hell difference has it made toward what you were talking about....nothing! Send those posting to your US representatives! Send them to the president! Send them where they will make a difference...and they will! (One cup of water won't drown a bad idea, but millions of cups of water will!)
I imagine the Libs laughing their a$$es off amongst each other because of all the venting going on that's not making a difference AND thinking, "Thank God for Al Gore invented the internet or all of this crap would be coming to Washington!".
People!!! Send it to Washington! (I've done it no less than a dozen time this year....that's twice a month...my cup of water.)

Your president is not going about it the right way. He's eliminating freedoms for small businesses and implementing a corrupt form of taxation. Your president is a liar, anyway. He may sing sweet songs, but it are his acitons that are what is meaningful.
