The interpretation of the Trobriand Islanders' Kula trade makes perfect sense from a profit point of view, even if you have to look deeper into the customs and social norms for what will subjectively best reap those gains. The anticapitalists often analyze these situations with a superficial view, hence causing them to only see what they want: pointless, non mutually beneficial nonmarket activity. I think you are simplifying but somewhat close nonetheless.

For example:
If conservatives wants a truly free economy, you don't say the government is isolationist, it's non-interventionist.

It's the same with foreign policy.
