Keith is correct... I watched the whole video of what Sherrod actually said and she is not the least bit racist. In fact she admits she had racist thoughts but realized they were wrong!
Another thing I agree with is that Obama should be Obama, not the president afraid to do or say anything for the fear of the right!

<DIV>Every religion is a way to be closer to God, so what if religions differ in the minor details? There is no guarantee that one is right, one can only have faith. So by that observation, it would be wrong for me to make a religious decision for someone else. </DIV> <DIV>To add on top of that no one has the right to judge or question anybody on their religious beliefs. </DIV> <DIV></DIV>

I think you have the liberal mindset wrong. Being liberal I accept that different people choose different paths to God. That doesnt make them wrong or right. In a country where there are so many different faiths one faith should not rule all others. One set of beliefs should not outweigh all others. __I believe the left get that. The right choose to push their beliefs on everyone. This country is a melting pot. It was never just about one God. So I will continue to vote left because certain decisions are not mine to make for anybody else such as who they want to marry or what to do with their body. __I respect those who have great convivtion in their faith but I still believe its wrong to push that conviction on somebody else. __

I was thinking the same thing. The native americans each other so it was completely ok that the europeans come and not only take their land but destroy their culture as well. Not to mention kill off everybody who is considered a savage. __Agree with you 100%

<DIV>I have been there and I agree that its very diverse but that doesnt really undermine my point. Are you saying Europe has no racism?</DIV> <DIV></DIV>

I'm not sure what you are disagreeing with wonder all. I said its more prominent in this country. Europe is not a country and the U.S. is very diverse in relation to most countries.
Also I'm not talking about slavery, I'm simply stating that racism still exists, perhaps not in its more blatant form but still here in a more abstract form.

<DIV>The caste system is not race based nor is it skin color based. It was a system similar to the feudal system in Europe and it does not exist anymore. If you dont know what it is please dont embarass yourself further by trying to talk about it. I did not say that racism does not exist in India. It does, very much so.</DIV> <DIV>People do judge according to race in the U.S. Its a fact. To deny that is ridiculous.</DIV> <DIV></DIV>

Skin color has nothing to do with the caste system, also the caste system has been completely outlawed. Racism is more prominent in this country because there is such a wide variety of races calling this country home. Its hard not to judge another race that is not your own. __But those who believe it doesnt exist because slavery doesnt exist is delusional.
