I feel like MITB cash ins by faces only work on those chickens*it heel types. CM Punk in 2008 and Ambrose 2 years ago both did it against guys (Edge and Rollins) who people felt deserved it and had it coming (both of those guys had notorious MITB cash ins as well so there was a sense of comeuppance). Brock doesn't fit that category at all. I don't like the pre-determined cash in but if Braun is gonna cash in that way that's the best way to protect Braun.
Even WWE didn't really see it coming....they made the decision for that the day of. Might have even done it during the show. Leading up to that they were set on putting the title on Reigns but couldn't pull the trigger.
Overall I thought the card was solid. But yeah the main event felt very uninspired. Considering how there was no clear favorite it feels like there was potential to build a lot more drama at the end but it never really unfolded.
That was right up there with "for the love of Mankind" as the most obviously scripted line ever.
I'm not saying I wanted her to win but if they are gonna go through with Natalia-Rhonda in the near future this would be a great way to set that up. They could have done the same thing with Natalia as with Alexa.
Yeah knowing Jeff he wouldn't be able to stop himself from doing something ridiculous in this match to cost himself another 6 months. I'm sure he could have worked a standard match if need be but who was available that deserved to be in a title match from Smackdown? No one really.
The difference is at least when they got over the hump they did it in actual matches. If Braun finally gets by Brock by using the briefcase it just looks like him taking the easy way out. Unless he announces his cash-in a la RVD or Cena, which I hate because it detracts from the stipulation IMO.
Yeah I read he's dealing with a pinched nerve, he's still been working house shows.
At the rate she is improving if the plan is to do her vs. Charlotte at next year's Mania....I'm finding myself very eager for that match.
Matt and Bray were supposed to defend titles tonight. Guess they changed their minds last minute. As for Jeff...if he wasn't gonna be in the MITB match there really wasn't anything else for him to do.
